Scheme II is referred to as the compulsory registration scheme. Under this scheme, the traders, importers, manufacturers of the product have to acquire BIS registration via self declaration. Meaning that it’s a part of compulsory registration scheme where the applicant declares that their product conforms to BIS standards.

Most Electronics and IT goods fall under this scheme, including:

  1. Electronic Games
  2. Televisions
  3. Optical Disk Drives
  4. Microwave Ovens
  5. Video Monitors
  6. Printers, plotters
  7. Amplifiers
  8. Electronic music systems
  9. Smart Watches
  10. Adapters
  11. External hard drives of USB type

And 40 other similar products fall under this scheme.
